A Writers' Cave and Vision Weekend
A unique opportunity for creativity, clarity and connection
Presented by Briony Kidd and Stranger Writers Studio

27 & 28 January 2024, Hobart

Briony Kidd has been running writers’ caves and other events for writers for over a decade and also works as a creativity coach. These two passions now combine in one special event.

What is a writers' cave?

A cave is a guided and very focused group writing session. You need to come in with a specific goal and ready to work hard. For example, you might have a word-count goal or a page goal or you might plan to complete a specific task, such as an outline, a first draft, an outline or a chapter of your work-in-progress. Some people use caves to churn out a lot of material very quickly. Others use it to start projects… or finally finish them. Still others prefer to just have fun and see what happens. For best results, commit early so that you can do some planning and be ready.

Work on a writing project

This is a weekend for writers who need or want quality time with their work-in-progress but who can’t go away overnight. Whatever writing project you’re working on, if you would benefit from a highly focused and supportive environment, this event is for you.

Get clarity and support for your writing goals

In addition to the actual writing time, this particular writers’ cave is a bit different because there are also some dedicated sessions on goals and process. See more info below.

Connect with other writers

This might be a connection that only lasts for two days, or it might lead to a new writers group for some participants or further writers’ caves. An ongoing facilitated writers’ group is also an option we can discuss as many writers lack opportunities for feedback and places to share their work.
